Charlotte-based Signicast Corp., has signed an agreement to acquire CIREX, a European investment casting specialist based in the Netherlands, for an undisclosed amount.

The CIREX acquisition will expand the precision casting company’s footprint outside the U.S. and enable Signicast to better serve its growing international customer base.

Signicast will now operate plants in the Netherlands, Czech Republic and Slovakia in addition to its existing three facilities in the U.S.

“This acquisition is a transformational moment for Signicast, representing our first step toward taking our brand global and adding capacity for both existing and new markets,” said Signicast CEO Clayton Tychkowsky sin a statement.

Signicast’s acquisition of CIREX will add to its skill in automating production to deliver finished high-precision components in a fraction of the time of traditional investment casting methods.

CIREX is the second acquisition to join Signicast following the acquisition of Consolidated Casting Corp. in 2018.

CIREX Managing Director Jeroen Spoelder said, “The acquisition brings CIREX within the Form Technologies family of precision engineering businesses and will give existing CIREX customers access to the full range of capabilities offered by Signicast, Dynacast, and OptiMIM.”

Form Technologies Inc., which is Signicast’s parent, is a global group of precision component manufacturers operating 26 design and production facilities in 16 countries worldwide.

Dynacast International Inc., a global manufacturer of small engineered precision components, acquired Signicast in 2017 to expand Dynacast’s customer offerings and accelerate their vision for growth. Dynacast, Signicast and OptiMIM constitute Form Technologies’ three distinct brands.
