Mooresville-based IntraPac Merges with Technical Precision Plastics

Packaging designer and manufacturer IntraPac International LLC, announced Wednesday it had merged with Technical Precision Plastics Inc., which molds parts for medical and consumer applications.

IntraPac designs specialty packaging solutions and is a custom injection molder. The company is based in Mooresville, North Carolina, and has 12 manufacturing facilities in Canada, the United States, Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic.

IntraPac has more than 800 employees.

Technical Precision Plastics specializes in medical and multi-shot molding, and has manufacturing locations in Mebane, North Carolina, and Haina, Dominican Republic.

“TPP is a world-class injection molder,” said IntraPac CEO Ray Grupinski in a statement. “In particular, TPP will bolster our existing medical business and technical capabilities for the consumer market while further accelerating our growth potential, both in the Research Triangle Park region of North America, the Dominican Republic and at our existing Costa Rican facilities in San Jose.”

TPP is IntraPac’s second transaction under ONCAP’s ownership following the acquisition of Quality Plastics in September 2017.
