BMC Stock Holdings Inc., which provides residential construction products, has acquired Barefoot & Co., a construction material wholesaler located in Indian Trail, North Carolina, for an undisclosed amount.
Barefoot provides windows, exterior doors, hardware, specialty products and installation services to homebuilders in the Charlotte metropolitan area.
Founded by Bob Barefoot in 1971, Barefoot generated $52 million in net sales for 2018. Barefoot supplies windows, exterior doors, door hardware, locks, shower doors, mirrors, specialty glass, closet systems, bath accessories, blinds, shades and shutters.
“With its reputation for outstanding quality and service excellence, Barefoot is a valuable addition to our product and service offerings in the Charlotte market,” said BMC CEO Dave Flitman in a statement. “Strategic tuck-in acquisitions that enhance our capabilities and higher-margin value-added product portfolio are a key tenet of our strategy. We will continue to create opportunities to better serve our customers and drive shareholder value.

With $3.4 billion in 2017 net sales, BMC provides builders, contractors and professional remodelers in the U.S. residential housing market.
Headquartered in Raleigh, BMC serves 45 metropolitan areas across 19 states, principally in the South and West regions.
Its shares closed Tuesday at $16.36.
