Speciality packaging company IntraPac International Corp. has acquired container manufacturer Quality Plastics LLC for an undisclosed amount.

IntraPac, which creates products for the food and beverage, personal care and pharmaceutical markets, announced the deal on Monday.

With this acquisition, IntraPac hopes to extend its manufacturing to the West Coast and expand into high density polyethylene bottles.

“We look forward to working with the Quality Plastics team to extend their sales reach to the East Coast and better service our collective customers with a broader product portfolio,” said CEO Ray Grupinski in a statement.

The company was founded in 2003 and offers products such as plastic bottles, tin tubes, deodorant sticks and cannulas. It is based in Mooresvile, with production facilities in North and Central America.

IntraPac recently had a patent approved for a bottle design. The company applied for the patent on Jan. 26, 2017, and it was issued Sept. 4, 2018.

Arizona-based Quality Plastics was established in 1965. The company designs and manufactures containers primarily for the nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, and food and beverage markets. Products include but are not limited to boston rounds, cylinder rounds and wide mouth jars.

“Both IntraPac and Quality Plastics share the same core values of consistently producing high quality products with best-in-class customer service,” said Sandy Williams, president of Quality Plastics, in a statement. “We are excited to partner with the IntraPac to further our growth strategy and to continue expanding the capabilities available to our customers.”

IntraPac was acquired by ONCAP, a mid-market private equity platform of Onex Corp., in December of 2017. Quality Plastics is IntraPac’s first acquisition under ownership of ONCAP.
