Moore & Van Allen PLLC is pleased to announce that Chaz M. Beasley has joined the firm as counsel in the Financial Services Group. Beasley is joining the firm from Alston & Bird.

In his finance practice to date, Beasley has focused on representing financial institutions in the issuance and management of corporate and structured debt transactions where he has closed hundreds of secured and unsecured debt issuances, involving borrowers, institutional trustees, and collateral agents in domestic and foreign jurisdictions. At Moore & Van Allen, Beasley will continue to represent financial institutions in corporate loan financings, including loan syndications and structured debt transactions.

Prior to joining Moore & Van Allen, Beasley served for two terms as a state representative for the North Carolina General Assembly, representing District 92, which includes Charlotte, Pineville, Steele Creek, Berryhill, Mountain Island, and Huntersville. In this role he worked to guide the state’s economic policy as a member of several standing committees, including Finance, Commerce & Job Development, Banking, Transportation, and Judiciary IV.

An active member of the community, Beasley has served on several boards and committees, including the Steele Creek Residents Association and Student Hunger Drive of the Carolinas.

Beasley earned his undergraduate degree from Harvard University and his law degree from Georgetown University Law Center.
