McGuireWoods elected 12 new partners effective Jan. 1, 2020. The new class — 50 percent women and lawyers of color — spans firm offices from coast to coast.

  • Edwin O. Childs Jr. (Government Investigations & White Collar Litigation, Washington, D.C.) represents companies in the defense, services, technology and aerospace industries in government contracting investigations, enforcement matters and compliance actions.
  • Keisha O. Coleman (Complex Commercial Litigation, Atlanta) is a trial lawyer with particular focus on complex financial services, business, securities, and white-collar criminal litigation and investigations.
  • Michael F. Easley Jr. (Financial Services Litigation, Raleigh) represents clients in complex litigation and regulatory matters. He counsels clients across industries including financial services, manufacturing, life sciences, consumer products and technology.
  • Matthew D. Fender (Business & Securities Litigation, Richmond) is a trial lawyer and commercial litigator who represents clients in contract disputes and insurance coverage matters as well as real estate litigation.
  • Meghan Gehr Hubbard (Tax & Employee Benefits, Richmond) practices in the private wealth services group representing corporate and individual fiduciaries in fiduciary litigation and administration matters.
  • Clare M. Lewis (M&A and Corporate Transactions, Charlottesville) represents venture capital and private equity investors and emerging growth and middle market companies in mergers and acquisitions, equity financings, corporate governance and fund formation.
  • Alexander M. Madrid (Complex Commercial Litigation, Pittsburgh) represents financial institutions and other corporate clients, with a specific focus on broker-dealers, in litigation, arbitration, and regulatory and enforcement actions.
  • Charlotte Pashley (Real Estate & Land Use, Century City) represents companies in commercial leasing of office, retail and industrial space, and acquisition and disposition of industrial and commercial properties.
  • Bradley A. Ridlehoover (Tax & Employee Benefits, Richmond) helps taxpayers facing federal tax disputes, guiding them through the resolution process from administrative audit to trial, and advises nonprofits and charities on federal tax issues.
  • Nicholas D. SanFilippo (Labor & Employment, Tysons) represents employers in matters involving employee mobility issues and business ownership disputes, which typically include employment contracts, restrictive covenants, the Uniform Trade Secrets Act (UTSA) and business tort claims.
  • Benjamin J. Sitter (Financial Services Litigation, Pittsburgh) defends and counsels clients in the financial services industry in class action litigation, vehicle finance matters, consumer protection, internal investigations and Ponzi schemes.
  • Larissa Sneathern (Business & Securities Litigation, Charlottesville) handles high-stakes commercial litigation, contractual disputes and business torts with a focus on energy and banking litigation.


In addition to the newly elected partners, 22 lateral partners have joined McGuireWoods in 2019, adding depth in a number of litigation and corporate practices. More than 45 percent of this year’s new lateral partners are women, LGBTQ lawyers and lawyers of color.
