Katten celebrated the 50th anniversary of Special Olympics Southern California this month as a ride sponsor for Pier del Sol, a culinary festival featuring top chefs and unlimited amusement park rides and games at the historic Santa Monica Pier and Pacific Park.
The 23rd annual event held on October 6, 2019 served as a major fundraiser to benefit local Special Olympics athletes. All proceeds go toward providing free year-round sports training and competition, leadership programs and athlete health screening and education that lead to improved health, self-confidence, and independence among athletes with intellectual disabilities and acceptance and inclusion in the community.
Additionally, Katten has supported other Special Olympics events throughout the year including the Summer Games and participated in We Run the City 5K/10K and the annual Plane Pull at Long Beach Airport to raise money for the organization.
