Moore & Van Allen PLLC is pleased to announce that Barbara S. Meeks, Associate General Counsel of Wells Fargo & Company, will join the firm as a Member in its Financial Regulatory Advice and Response practice group.

At Moore & Van Allen, Meeks will continue to build on her experience in the financial services industry. Meeks understands the complexity of issues facing the financial sector and will provide the firm’s clients with a pragmatic and solutions-based approach to challenges. Meeks plans to work closely with the practice co-head, Ed O’Keefe, the former Bank of America Global General Counsel, on regulatory advice and inquiries.
At Wells Fargo, Meeks led the Legal Department groups supporting commercial banking, commercial real estate, small business, wealth management finance, global banking and global retail brokerage. She was also responsible for regional support of international and wholesale activities in Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean.
Meeks was also the president of Wells Fargo’s Women’s Team member network, providing professional support for over 35,000 women. She has been recognized with a Top 25 Women in Business Award from the Charlotte Business Journal, a top 50 Most Influential Woman Award from TheMecklenburg Times, a Leader in Law Award from North Carolina Lawyers Weekly, and a Corporate Counsel Award from the Charlotte Business Journal.
Meeks holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Politics and Psychology from Wake Forest University and received her law degree from Wake Forest University. She is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association.
