Attorney and former Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Assistant Director Chris Swecker has joined the Southeastern law firm Miller & Martin in the Litigation practice adding depth to the firm’s White Collar and Corporate Investigations and Privacy & Data Security practices. Although based in Charlotte, N.C., Mr. Swecker will serve clients nationwide.

Mr. Swecker spent 24 years as Special Agent before eventually retiring in 2006 as Assistant Director with responsibility over all FBI criminal investigations. His experience also includes 2003 service in Iraq as the FBI's On Scene Commander and an appointment as chairman of the North Carolina Governor’s Crime Commission in 2013. Mr. Swecker also previously served as Corporate Security Executive for Bank of America overseeing fraud investigations, physical security, due diligence investigations, employment screening, security technology, intelligence and executive protection.

Most recently, Mr. Swecker has worked as an independent consultant focusing on public speaking, commentary, advice and solutions in areas of financial crimes, organized crime, cybercrimes, physical security and anti-money laundering, as well as conducting comprehensive school security assessments.
