Moore & Van Allen PLLC is pleased to announce that Litigation Member Mindy Vervais has been named to the "50 Most Influential Women" list for 2017 by The Mecklenburg Times. Vervais was formally recognized in The Mecklenburg Times and at an awards presentation on Friday, May 19, at the Hilton Charlotte Center City.
Mindy is a member of Moore & Van Allen’s litigation and energy teams. A significant portion of her practice involves providing regulatory, business and litigation services to regulated infrastructure service industries. In addition to handling administrative litigation before multiple state public service commissions and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, Mindy provides general business advice, compliance assistance and training, and a wide variety of related legal services.
On top of handling regulatory and complex commercial litigation matters, Mindy has made pro bono matters an important part of her legal practice. Most of her volunteer work focuses on managing and participating in Moore & Van Allen’s Domestic Violence Pro Bono Project, a program that assists victims of domestic violence with obtaining year-long protective orders. She also volunteers at Mecklenburg County’s Self-Serve Center, Council for Children’s Rights, and most recently, Make-A-Wish. At the firm, Mindy is an active participant in the Women of Moore & Van Allen affinity group, where she formally and informally mentors new and mid-level associates. She stays engaged in the broader legal field by serving as a member of the American Bar Association, North Carolina Bar Association, Energy Bar Association, Young Professionals in Energy and Charlotte Women's Attorneys.
