The year's Best Small Agency Digital Ad Campaign, as named on the evening of Wednesday, July 20, at Advertising Age's eighth annual Small Agency Awards show, in Miami Beach, was "World's Tastiest Coupon," created by Raleigh ad agency Baldwin&, for their client Krispy Kreme, Winston-Salem.
The award marks the fourth time in Baldwin&'s 7-year history that it has been nationally recognized for either producing the U.S.'s best small agency work, or for being the U.S.'s best small agency.
For this year's winning campaign, to promote a buy-one-get-one offer at Krispy Kreme, they shot and distributed video of one of the doughnut company's glazing machines in action. The machine had been rigged to drip its sweet glaze in a most particular pattern, so that when consumers played the video on their phone, it made a scannable barcode that got them free doughnuts.
Krispy Kreme global creative director Martin Davidson states, "It takes a great partnership to get this kind of work from your agency. We're proud of our relationship with Baldwin&."
