Take The Plunge Against Cancer For Haymakers For Hope’s First-Ever Sucker Punch Plunge

1/21/21

Rather than take the punch, take the plunge in Haymakers for Hope’s first-ever Sucker Punch Plunge. Haymakers for Hope, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization known for its large-scale charity boxing events, is hosting its first polar plunge to raise money for cancer research, awareness, survivorship and care.

As part of Operation Counterpunch, Haymakers for Hope is challenging people to fundraise through a fun and adrenaline-filled polar plunge that can be done from anywhere. Simply register as an individual or as a team, fundraise for great prizes, and jump into a cold body of water between February 26 - 28th. The Sucker Punch Plunge is completely subjective; from ice baths, to cold showers, to creeks and oceans -- just have fun and get creative.

“While boxing might have been canceled in 2020, the fight against cancer was not,” says Haymakers for Hope cofounder, Andrew Myerson. “We hope that boxing will come back in 2021, but for now we are hosting a wide variety of events aimed to be fun, challenging, and in line with our core mission. What is more fun than jumping into freezing water to KO cancer?”

The more participants fundraise, the better the prizes, which include a custom Haymakers for Hope towel, a series of H4H winter swag, and products from Yeti coolers. Check out the Sucker Punch Plunge video to get pumped up for the challenge. Register for the Sucker Punch Plunge today.

About Operation Counterpunch:

Operation Counterpunch is Haymakers for Hope’s initiative to fight back against the onset of COVID-19. Due to the global pandemic, our large-scale, amateur charity boxing events have been placed on hold and our plans for growth and expansion are paused. As a result, the Haymakers for Hope organization is bracing for a loss of up to $5 million over the calendar year. Operation Counterpunch was created to support the unforeseen financial needs caused by COVID-19, as well as to aid in the development of new programming designed to help cancer survivors, and to create new interim initiatives.
