Insteel Industries Appoints Richard T. Wagner as COO

Insteel Industries, Inc., the nation’s largest manufacturer of steel wiring reinforcing products, said its board appointed Richard T. Wagner to Chief Operating Officer, according to an 8-K filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Tuesday.

Wagner, 60, assumed the roles of COO and senior vice president effective Monday.

Wagner previously spent more than twenty years serving as general manager of the concrete reinforcing products business unit of Insteel Wire Products, a subsidiary of Insteel. He was also appointed a vice president of the parent company in February 2007. From 1977 through 1992, Wanger worked for Florida Wire and Cable, Inc., a manufacturer of galvanized strands, that was acquired by Insteel in 2000.

With the promotion, Wanger’s compensation remains unchanged, according to the filing.

Shares of Insteel Industries, Inc. (IIIN) were last trading lower by 16 cents near $20.44 on Tuesday.
