Tanger Factory Outlet Centers, Inc., the operator of outlet shopping centers, appointed Leslie Swanson as executive vice president of operations Thursday.

Swanson, who has more than 25 years of experience in shopping center operations, previously served as the executive vice president of property management for Simon Premium Outlets. At Simon, the company posted 8 years of net operating income growth under her and added 12 new properties and expanded 15 other centers in that time.

In her new role at Tanger, Swanson will oversee the outlet portfolio’s operations, including planning and execution of operational strategies, driving center occupancy, and developing new revenue opportunities.

“She is a proven team builder, revenue generator and thought leader. We look forward to benefiting from her experience in delivering top-line results and operational efficiencies while inspiring and empowering the teams she leads,” Stephen Yalof, president and COO of Tanger Outlets, said in the release.

She is a graduate of Illinois State University, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts and Science degree in Public Relations and Organizational Communication Psychology.

Tanger Factory Outlets Centers, Inc. is a publicly-trade REIT that operates 38 outlet shopping centers across 20 states and in Canada.

Shares of Tanger Factory Outlets (SKT) were trading at $6.18 Thursday, up 15 cents, or 2.32 percent.
