LabCorp, the clinical testing and laboratory services company, announced on Tuesday a partnership with Infirmary Health, the largest non-governmental health care system in Alabama, to provide laboratory services throughout the eastern Gulf Coast region.
As part of the multi-year collaboration, LabCorp will aim shorten lab testing turnaround time, accelerate access to innovative diagnostic testing for Infirmary Health’s acute care facilities and increase COVID-19 testing capacity in Alabama.
“LabCorp is excited to work with Infirmary Health to enhance and expand the laboratory experience for patients and providers across southern Alabama. We look forward to partnering with Infirmary Health to provide high-quality laboratory services to improve patient care,” LabCorp Diagnostics’ Southeast Division SVP Chris Bosler said in the release.
Infirmary Health transformed laboratory facilities so it could fully utilize LabCorp services.
Infirmary Health serves 11 counties in Alabama and Escambia County, Fla.
“As a highly regarded laboratory with strong roots in Alabama, LabCorp’s expertise will help bring an enhanced laboratory experience to Infirmary Health, including testing for COVID-19 that is vitally needed by the providers and patients we serve,” Infirmary Health CEO Mark Nix said in a statement.
Shares of Laboratory Corporation of America Holdings (LH) rose 1.13 percent, or $2.40, to end Tuesday’s session at $187.47.
