Cornerstone Building Brands, the largest manufacturer of exterior building products in North America, appointed James “Jim” Keppler as executive vice president of operations, the company announced in a press release on Tuesday.

Keppler has spent more than 30 years in the automotive industry and appliance manufacturing sector, serving as the vice president of integrated supply chain and quality for Whirlpool Corporation, overseeing manufacturing, logistics, planning and quality. Before that, Keppler was the senior vice president of North American operations for International Automotive Components, looking after manufacturing operations of all U.S., Canada and Mexico facilities.

“I am excited to welcome Jim to the Cornerstone Building Brands leadership team where he will play a key role in our growth strategy,” CEO James S. Metcalf said in the release. “His extensive best-in-class end to end supply chain and manufacturing experience along with his outstanding leadership capabilities make him an ideal choice for our organization.”

According to an 8-K filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Keppler signed a one-year employment agreement, subject to automatic one-year extensions. According to the filing, Keppler will receive an annual base salary of $510,000 and a yearly cash bonus target equal to 80 percent of his base salary with a maximum payout of 160 percent depending on the compensation committee’s performance goals.

Keppler also received long-term equity incentive awards that include $450,000 in stock options, restricted stock units with a value of $1,000,000 and performance share units valued at $250,000, the filing shows.

Keppler graduated with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical technology from Purdue University. Keppler also earned a master’s degree in manufacturing management from GMI Engineering and Management Institute.

Cornerstone’s stock (CNR) was last trading down 16 cents at $7.59 on Wednesday.
