EnPro Industries Inc., based in Charlotte, N.C., will sell all assets related to its STEMCO Motor Wheel brake drum and Crewson brake adjuster brands, following a second-quarter earnings loss.

EnPro announced Friday that it would sell the assets for $9 million to Hendrickson USA LLC, an Illinois-based automobile parts manufacturing company. EnPro expects to retain approximately $1 million in net receivables for the business. The sale is expected to close in the third quarter.

EnPro recorded related restructuring and impairment charges of $11.1 million in the second quarter, the company said in Friday’s press release. Following the sale to Hendrickson, EnPro expects to reverse $3.7 million of the cash restructuring charges recorded in the second quarter.

“This transaction represents a positive outcome for all stakeholders as it preserves the jobs of our workforce and mitigates customer disruptions, while providing EnPro’s shareholders a fair valuation for the assets of the business,” EnPro CEO Marvin Riley said in a statement.

Founded in 2002, EnPro is an industrial products manufacturing company. The company said in its recent second-quarter earnings release that it would reduce its heavy-duty truck market to reshape its portfolio toward “businesses with strong margins and cash flow returns.”

Shares of EnPro (NPO) stock closed at $58.77 Friday, up 47 cents, or .81%, for the day.
