Cornerstone Building Brands, Inc., a supplier of residential and commercial exterior building supplies, was the victim of a cyberattack, according to an 8-K filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Tuesday.

On Sunday, Aug. 9, Cornerstone said it “detected a ransomware attack impacting certain of its operational and information technology systems,” the filing said.

According to the filing, Cornerstone “promptly” responded with an investigation as soon as it detected the threat and notified authorities and engaged a specialized legal counsel.

Cornerstone did not clarify how it perceived the malware threat or how it made it into its systems.

The company noted that it’s already “recovered many of its critical operational data and business systems.”

Cornerstone, which has cyber insurance, added that it “does not expect the incident to have a material impact on its business, operations, or financial condition.”

Cornerstone’s (CNR) stock was last trading up about 4.6%, or 40 cents, near $8.97 per share on Thursday.
