The Verizon Wireless Retailer Partnered with Google and Samsung for Donations to Operation Homefront and Children’s Heart Foundation
Victra, the largest exclusive authorized retailer for Verizon Wireless products and services, rallied more than two hundred team members to build and donate 52 children’s bicycles. Victra also joined with partners Google and Samsung to donate 40 backpacks and 40 Samsung Galaxy Tablets, respectively.
“We are all grateful to use time together to give back to the community, especially to very deserving kids,” said Rich Balot, CEO of Victra. “Supporting communities where our employees and customers live is a core pillar of our company’s values, and it’s a natural fit as part of our mission to help connect technology to life!”
The donations were assembled and donated to children through Operation Homefront and Children’s Heart Foundation. These nonprofits aim to assist children in need around the United States, and these bikes, tablets and backpacks help to create normal, childhood experiences and community building activities for these children. Both leaders in their advocacy fields, Operation Homefront works to build strong, stable and secure military families, and the Children’s Heart Foundation seeks to fund research to advance the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of congenital heart defects.
“Operation Homefront could not do the relief and support work it does here in the Las Vegas community without the generous support of companies like Victra,” said Phil Martinez, Area Manager of the Operation Homefront in Las Vegas. “Not only do the physical donations help us delight children and families, but their excitement is contagious to help us continue the important work we do of serving military families. There is nothing so pure as to see a child smile when surprising them with their first bike, and for that, we are grateful for companies like Victra."
Executive Director of the Children’s Heart Foundation Melissa Cipriano shared, “Victra’s outpouring of love and support that was shown to our heart families was immeasurable. The gifts to our families is a true testament to Victra’s core values. We cannot say thank you enough for putting smiles on the faces of our littlest heart heroes.”
Victra plans to make these donation efforts part of the annual company summit event, and continues to make giving back an active part of its culture. Over the past two years, the company has offered relief efforts and services for those affected by natural disasters.
