Carolina Financial Beats Earning Estimates in Q3

Carolina Financial Corporation reported third-quarter operating earnings of $18.6 million on Thursday, beating analyst estimates of $16.3 million.

The company reported earnings of 83 cents per diluted share compared with 67 cents per diluted share from the third quarter of 2018.

The operating figures exclude merger-related expenses, $1.8 million in impairment charges on mortgage servicing rights and losses on debt extinguishment and falling interest rates.

Loans receivable, from June 30, 2019, gross grew $70.9 million for Carolina Financial.

Carolina Financial did not experience any significant damage and is not expecting material customer impacts due to Hurrican Dorian in August, the company said.

Carolina Financial operates as a holding company for CresCom Bank and provides commercial and retail financial services in North Carolina and South Carolina. Shares of Carolina Financial closed at $36.16 on Thursday, down 28 cents.
