Bahati Mutisya Appointed to Raleigh Housing Authority Board of Commissioners

Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP is pleased to announce that Bahati Mutisya has been appointed to the board of commissioners for the Raleigh Housing Authority. She will provide oversight in the planning, construction, and operation of housing for people with low income within Raleigh and Wake County.

Bahati was appointed by Mayor Nancy McFarlane and joins eight other members on the board of commissioners. The board is also responsible for making recommendations involving the improvement of low-income housing and redevelopment of various aging communities. Bahati is filling a vacancy on the board that runs through December 2020, with an option to renew then.

At Parker Poe, Bahati has a diverse practice that includes representing private businesses and local governments in regulatory matters and civil litigation. In her land use practice, she assists municipalities with land use regulation, advises real estate developers on compliance with local zoning laws, and defends developers in real property litigation. She is a member of Parker Poe’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee and its Recruiting Committee.
