Allegiance Merchant Services announced Thursday that payments industry veteran R. Scott McFarland will be the company’s next president.

In his new role, McFarland will oversee the company’s expanded vision and new plans for growth.

“We have phenomenal team members in place and intend to attract some of the industry’s best and brightest to come join us,” McFarland said. “It is going to be a special journey for everyone associated with Allegiance.”

Prior to joining Allegiance, McFarland was part of the founding management team of Payment Alliance International, an ATM services provider. He later served as PAI’s chief revenue officer prior to the company’s acquisition earlier this year.

Abby Brant, Allegiance co-founder and chief sales officer, worked under McFarland during his time at PAI.

“He is a natural leader and I’m confident we will scale Allegiance to achieve the shared vision of our executive team,” Brant said. “Scott provides the fuel and personal grit for a truly exciting future.”

Allegiance is a Charlotte-based provider of electronic merchant services, including debit and credit card processing, electronic gift card processing and merchant cash advance programs.
