Paul Cozza
Cape Fear CREW, the leading organization for women in commercial real estate in the Cape Fear region,welcomes Paul Cozza, Executive Director of the North Carolina State Ports Authority, on Friday, October 11, 2019. Mr. Cozza will update us on what is happening with the Wilmington Port and what it takes to transport goods throughout the southeast as well as insight on the role of industrial real estate in the ports system. The program will be held at our new location, Cape Fear Country Club, at 1518 Country Club Road in Wilmington, NC from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM.
Mr. Cozza was appointed Executive Director of the North Carolina Ports Authority in April 2014. Under his leadership, the Authority has embarked on a more than $200 million infrastructure plan, welcomed the largest container vessels in the Port of Wilmington's history and recently achieved a record Fiscal Year 2018.
Prior to his role as Executive Director, Mr. Cozza served as the President of the The CSL Group, a marine logistics company and the world's largest owner and operator of self-unloading vessels. He also served in several executive roles for The Maersk Group, to include Senior Vice President for Maersk Line, Limited and the Vice President for Network Planning. In addition to his experience with the world's largest container line, Mr. Cozza has more than a decade of experience with Sea-Land Service, Inc. and CSX Corporation. He was the Vice President for Terminal Operations and General Manager, Europe with Sea-Land as well as the Marketing Director, Asia and Americas Container Services.
Mr. Cozza is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and served in the US Army. He lives in the Wilmington area with this wife and has two daughters.
