Pike Corporation has created a new unit to serve fiber and telecom customers, the company announced in a press release Tuesday.

The new Pike Telecom Division combines former group, UC Synergetic, with a new fiber and telecom construction group. The unit will help customers ramp up for the deployment of 5G and offer full design and build capability.

“We made this investment in Pike Telecom because we believe we bring a breadth of critical skills and experience the sector needs during its rapid expansion,” states Eric Pike, CEO of Pike Corporation.

Established in 1945 and headquartered in Mt. Airy, N.C., Pike Telecom is an energy services provider for over 300 utilities across the U.S.
