Innovative grant provides $60,000 of support and encourages nonprofits to use tech to tackle economic mobility issues
Apparo’s 2019 Mission Possible:The Economic Opportunity Award program will kick off Friday, September 13, in Charlotte.
This innovative grant is presented annually to a Charlotte area nonprofit with the strongest proposal for using technology to improve economic mobility and is made possible through Apparo’s leadership, a$10,000 cash grant and consulting services from Accenture, a leading global professional services company. The grant also includes $50,000 of consulting support from Accenture to help the winning nonprofit turn their dreams into reality.
“The Mission Possible grant program is extremely unique and has proven to be beneficial for nonprofits in our community,” Kim Lanphear, CEO of Apparo, said. “Each nonprofit that participates receives access to valuable pro bono consultants to help them envision how technology can solve their biggest challenges. We coach them as they build a strong proposal for a tech-based solution to move Charlotte forward.”
Although only one local nonprofit will win the grant, each participant will receive the following benefits:
- Up to 15 hours of pro bono business strategy support from apersonal Accenture consultant
- A polished proposal which can be submitted to any other funding sources
- The beginning of a partnership with Apparo … many participants go on to receive Apparo’spro bono support.?
