Duke Energy Renewables, a subsidiary of Duke Energy, has completed nine solar projects under Georgia Power’s Renewable Energy Development Initiative, the company said Thursday.
The projects, totaling 14.1 megawatts and 54,590 solar panels, have begun production and were developed with SolAmerica Energy. Duke Energy Renewables now has 27.4 megawatts of solar projects in the state.
“We’re excited to complete these projects and look forward to developing even more clean, renewable energy projects in Georgia in the future,” said Chris Fallon, vice president of Duke Energy Renewables.
Duke Energy says it is on track to own or purchase 8,000 megawatts of wind, solar and biomass energy by 2020.
Shares of Duke Energy closed at $91.32 on Thursday.
