Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc., a trucking company headquartered in Thomasville, North Carolina, gave compensation raises to its new CEO and executive chairman, according to a form 14A filed Monday.

CEO Greg C. Gantt received total compensation of $4.8 million in 2018, up from $3.26 million the year prior. His nonequity incentive plan compensation rose to $3.8 million in 2018 from $2.3 million in 2017.

His salary in 2018 totaled $616,339, up from his 2017 salary of $557,969.

Gantt was appointed as CEO last year in May, replacing current Executive Chairman David Congdon.

Gantt previously served as Old Dominion’s chief operating officer and has served as the company’s president since 2015. He joined Old Dominion as a regional vice president in 1994 and became chief operating officer in 2011.

Congdon also received a raise. The Executive Chairman received total compensation of nearly $9.66 million, up from $7.2 million in 2017.

Earl E. Congdon, senior executive chairman, was the company’s only executive to miss out on a raise. His compensation for the year totaled $5.8 million, down from $7.17 million the year prior.

Old Dominion Freight Line is a global transportation company founded in 1934. The company has a network of 235 service centers located throughout the United States.

Old Dominion stock was trading at $154.83 per share before the market opening on Wednesday, up 1.55 percent from opening on Tuesday.
