The senior vice president and chief financial officer of Air T Inc., a Denver-North Carolina-based aircraft company specializing in air cargo and aviation maintenance, has announced his resignation.

Brett Reynolds’ resignation will take effect “on or about April 12, 2019,” giving Air T a three-week notice, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

“I was intending to remain with Air T for the long term, it is with mixed feelings that I make this decision,” Reynolds said in a statement.

CEO Nick Swenson said, “We are disappointed to see Brett leave, but understand the uniqueness of the opportunity in front of him; we thus fully support his decision and wish him well.”

Reynolds said that “as a long-time medical device industry veteran, I have an opportunity to return to the medical device industry as the CFO of a US-based company that is a leader in laser micro manufacturing for the life sciences.”

Air T’s board of directors has hired an executive search firm to find Reynolds’ replacement. Candice Otey, the company’s chief accounting officer will remain in her current position.

Air T stock decreased 20 cents on Thursday, closing at $30.32, a 0.66 percent drop.
