Unifi Board Member Robert J. Bishop Buys $764,000 of Company Stock

A board member of Unifi Inc., a Greensboro-based textile company, has purchased over $764,000 in company stock, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission form filed Friday.

Robert J. Bishop is the second board member to make a stock purchase this week, following a $850,000 purchase by Kenneth Langone.

Bishop purchased 30,443 shares at $21.49 on Wednesday and 5,100 shares at $21.60 on Thursday, for a total value of $764,380. These transactions brought Bishop’s total ownership to 1.5 million shares, worth more than $34 million.

He has served on the company’s board of directors since 2016.

Unifi has over 20 subsidiaries, offering textile products made from water bottles and other recycled materials. Its yarn is used by brands including Adidas, Levi Strauss & Co., Under Armour and The North Face.

Unifi stock was trading at $22.04 per share at market close on Friday, up 3.86 percent from opening.
