Winston-Salem’s Cook & Boardman Acquires Pennsylvania’s HCHoodCo

Door company Cook & Boardman Group announced Monday that it has acquired Pennsylvania-based HCHoodCo Inc. for an undisclosed amount.

Established in 1989 and based in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania, HCHoodCo sells metal and wood doors, locks, exit devices, access control solutions, aluminum storefront and curtain walls, and other building components.

The company was founded by Tom and Sandy Hood.

“We are excited to welcome HCHoodCo’s 30-plus employees to the Cook & Boardman family of companies,” said Cook& Boardman CEO Darrin Anderson in a statement. “The company’s technical expertise, comprehensive product offering, and value-added services, will enable us to enter the Pennsylvania market.”

“Over the last 30 years, Tom and Sandy have built a strong company with a talented workforce and excellent culture,” Anderson added. “We look forward to supporting them in their mission to serve as a trusted partner to their customers and suppliers.”

Cook & Boardman’s business lines include commercial metal and wood doors, door frames, door hardware, and related products.

It serves the non-residential market, including the commercial, education, municipal, health care, office, and hospitality sectors.

Cook & Boardman is headquartered in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and operates 35 locations across 12 states.
