Asheville-based digital audio startup Podcraft Inc. has raised $145,000 in a fund, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The form was filed on Jan. 24. The money was raised by five investors.

Podcraft works to help companies and brands take over the digital audio space by facilitating the production of podcasts. Podcraft utilizes the customer’s ideas and content and works with the customer to edit, engineer and distribute a professional podcast.

The company was founded in January 2018 by Dan Radin. With more than 15 years working in audio technology, Radin serves the company as chief executive officer.

As a new company, Podcraft is capitalizing on the increasing rate of podcasts in digital media.

Private firms such as Podcraft relying on the Rule 506 exemption do not have to register their offering of securities with the SEC, but they must file what’s known as a Form D electronically with the SEC after they first sell their securities.

The form can be found here.
