Erickson Realty and Moving Services Helps Those Moving to the Largest County in North Carolina

11/14/18

According to U.S. Census figures released in July, Mecklenburg County is the largest county in the state, with a population of nearly 1.1 million. The county’s estimated population growth rate between 2017 and 2018 was 6.43 percent, making it one of the fastest growing counties in North Carolina.

Mirroring this accelerated growth is Erickson Living’s Mecklenburg County community – Windsor Run, located in Matthews. Since opening in May, the community has grown quickly necessitating the addition of a third residential community, Beech Hollow, opening in 2019.

In an effort to address the needs of the hundreds of new community members moving each month, Windsor Run offers Erickson Realty and Moving Services.

The program helps eliminate the many challenges customers may face when selling their houses and preparing for their moves. At the heart of the Realty and Moving Service are the personal moving consultants, who work one-on-one with future residents to provide individualized assistance with everything from selecting a real estate professional to staging their home, packing and moving.

“Our personal moving consultants make it their number-one priority to ensure that a future resident’s move, from start to finish, is as seamless as possible,” says Erickson Living’s Regional Director, Sharon Baksa, who started the Realty and Moving Services program in 2007. “By working with a network of carefully-selected professionals (or preferred partners), chosen for the quality of services they provide, our personal moving consultants create customized moving plans unique to each individual customer’s desires. And most importantly, they are with their customers every step of the way.”

In the last five months, Windsor Run personal moving consultant Rachel Gilbert and her team of real estate professionals helped community members sell $15 million in real estate.

“My goal is to help make moves as stress-free as possible,” says Gilbert, who currently works with 90% of all people moving to Windsor Run. “For many, that starts with selling their current house. Our realtors are intimately aware of the market and the neighborhoods where they are selling. As a result, the homes they sell currently average 23 days on the market compared to 56 days for those not using a preferred realtor.”

“The help I received was invaluable,” says Pat Bell who moved to Windsor Run from Sun City in May. She utilized Erickson Realty and Moving Services to sell her home and move her personal belongings.

“Everyone was wonderful,” says Ms. Bell. “Prior to working with the Windsor Run team, my house sat on the market for 330 days. I received lots of visits but no offers. As soon as I turned things over to the Windsor Run team, everything changed. The preferred realtor came out to my house and took new photos and measurements. They suggested a few simple updates, nothing expensive. My house was listed on the market on Monday and sold that Friday. I was amazed. I am eternally grateful to these new friends.”

“Moving doesn’t have to be the nightmare many people fear it will be,” says Gilbert. “Our team of trusted professionals understand, first-hand, all the ins and out of selling a home and moving to Windsor Run. They do the heavy lifting so our new residents can enjoy their exciting new life as soon as possible.”

That’s exactly what John Rourke did prior to his move to Windsor Run this summer.

“I’ve sold eight homes in my life and nothing even comes close to the experience I had moving to Windsor Run,” he says. “The preferred realtor I selected did a wonderful job. I received 100% of my asking price, something that never happened with all my other moves. They took care of all the steps along the way and I couldn’t be happier.”
