Multifamily real estate investor and manager Bell Partners Inc. has raised $188.6 million in equity, according to a Form D filed Tuesday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Greensboro-based Bell Partners was not immediately available for comment on how all the funds will be used.

An estimated $4.8 million will be used as payments for Bell Partners’ executive officers, directors or promoters, according to the filing.

Bell Partners manages an estimated 50,000 multifamily units across the United States — concentrated primarily in the Southeast, but with complexes from Massachusetts to Washington and California.

Jon Bell is the CEO of the company.

Bell joined Bell Partners in 2001. As CEO, he is involved in all aspects of the business, with a particular emphasis on transactions, capital and company strategy.

Since joining Bell Partners, Bell has overseen company transactions exceeding $10 billion in value. Prior to joining Bell Partners, Bell was employed by Lend Lease Real Estate Investments (now Morgan Stanley) pursuing acquisitions and, before that, by Faison & Associates, selling properties on behalf of its institutional clients.
