Charlotte’s Stonewall corridor is set to receive North Carolina’s first JW Marriott, a luxury hotel brand from Marriott International.

Set to open in 2021, the 21-story hotel will be developed by White Lodging Services Corp., a hotel development, ownership and management group based out of Indiana, in partnership with Charlotte-based Crescent Communities.

Crescent is developing the 26-story office building less than a block down the street: Ally Charlotte Center, which is also set for delivery in 2021.

“The burgeoning Stonewall corridor of Charlotte is experiencing tremendous modernization and growth,” says Deno Yiankes, president and CEO of investments and developments at White Lodging, “and further defining itself as an economic and entertainment hub in the Queen City.”

The hotel will feature 381 guest rooms, as well as a swimming pool and bar on the fifth floor with terrace access. Further amenities include a full-service luxury spa and a co-working executive lounge.

“We’ve had a clear vision about the type of mixed use community we wanted to create in the white hot center of uptown Charlotte from the start,” says Brian Leary, president of Commercial/Mixed Use for Crescent.

“Today’s announcement completes that vision. The team at White Lodging is best-in-class, and we’ve enjoyed working side-by-side to get to this point. The JW Marriott Charlotte’s growth from our initial discussions is a response to the burgeoning cultural, commerce and convention business immediately next door.”
