A mixed-use, two-building development is set for construction on South Tryon Street and Carson Boulevard in Charlotte, according to an announcement by The Spectrum Cos. and Invesco Real Estate.
The development calls for 440,000 square feet of Class A office space, 40,000 square feet of retail, a 200-room boutique hotel with a parking deck below, and event space in an urban plaza.
Each building will be nine stories tall.
“This project will have a ‘South End’ vibe,” said Spectrum CEO Darryl Dewberry, “with collaborative work spaces, outdoor terraces and destination retail, while also offering the Class A office space and amenities you expect Uptown. This office community will connect two of Charlotte’s most vibrant areas.”
These buildings will be located one block from the Carson light rail stop on the 501 line, which leads into Charlotte’s Uptown.
Focused on the Southeast, Spectrum invests, develops, manages and leases commercial and multifamily property particularly in Charlotte and Raleigh in North Carolina, Charleston and Greenville in South Carolina, and Nashville, Tennessee.
Invesco manages $65.3 billion in real estate assets across the U.S., Europe and Asia. The firm focuses on core, value-add and opportunistic real estate projects.
