Diversey, a Charlotte-based cleaning company, is losing its top executive, according to a press release.

Ilham Kadri is resigning as the company’s CEO, effective Dec. 31, to become CEO of Belgian chemicals group Solvay.

“I am honored to have had the opportunity to lead this impressive team who has worked hard to help our company evolve and reach our potential. I’m confident they will continue to drive solid growth and value for our customers and partners,” Kadri said in the release.

Carlos Sagasta, the company’s chief financial officer, and Gaetano Redaelli, Diversey’s global president, professional division, will serve as joint CEOs, effective immediately. Alongside their current roles, they will also run the company until a new CEO is chosen.

Kadri has 22 years of experience with roles in business leadership, strategic planning, sales, marketing, product management, mergers and acquisitions and research and development in companies such as Shell Chemicals-Basell, UCB-Cytec, Huntsman, Rohm Haas-Dow and Sealed Air.

She became the president and CEO of Diversey in September 2017.

Diversey provides commercial cleaning, sanitation and hygiene solutions to institutions. The company employs approximately 9,200 people globally, and it has an annual net sales of approximately $2.7 billion.
