Scientific Environmental Design, an environmental consultant based in High Point, raised another $717,500 in private equity, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filingon Friday.

The company has sold a total of $1.6 million in equity after raising $887,500 in May. According to the filing, Scientific Environmental wants to raise $145,000 more to sell its total offering amount of $1.75 million. It did not disclose what it intended to do with the proceeds.

Scientific Environmental is an energy efficiency company specializing in the design and technology for residential heating and cooling systems.

Founded in 1978 by Harry Boody as Energy Innovations, the company has grown and evolved into a company offering residential HVAC design.

The company’s mission is to provide customers with the lowest cost of ownership for their HVAC systems through the application of design methods that result in the highest efficiency, comfort and air quality.

Companies relying on a Reg D exemption do not have to register their offering of securities with the SEC, but they must file what’s known as a Form D electronically with the SEC after they first sell their securities.
