McGuckin & Pyle, Inc., a manufacturer of custom lamination and processing equipment, chose Craven County for its new plant, according to the N.C. Department of Commerce.

The company announced it will invest $2.25 million by bringing mechanical and electrical control system assembly and machinery services to New Bern and create 33 new jobs.

The state is supplementing McGuckin & Pyle’s investment with a $70,000 One North Carolina Fund grant.

McGuckin & Pyle’s decision shows its determination to help rebuild the Craven County after the Hurricane Florence.

“Extending our operations into North Carolina is a real game-changer for our company, and we are committed to rebuilding Craven County and helping play a part in getting people back on their feet after Hurricane Florence,” said Keith Connolly, president for McGuckin & Pyle.

Commerce Secretary Tony Copeland said that McGuckin & Pyle’s decision also underscored the resilience of local community.

“Craven County has the workforce needed for manufacturers to be successful, and McGuckin & Pyle knows that no hurricane can take that away from this strong community,” Copeland said.

New employees’ salaries at McGuckin & Pyle will average $44,304 per year, compared to Craven County’s current average salary of $37,174 per year, according to the state.

Established in 1949, McGuckin & Pyle is a custom machinery manufacturer currently based in Downingtown, Pennsylvania. It produces custom processing industrial equipment such as laminators, winding and unwinding machines, carton forming machines and more.
