Perkins+Will Appoints David Crabtree as Senior Associate and Corporate, Commercial, and Civic Practice Leader

Global architecture and design firm Perkins+Will welcomes David Crabtree, AIA as Senior Associate, corporate /commercial/civic practice leader, and design leader. An architect and urban designer, he brings 16 years of design leadership and client collaboration experience to Perkins+Will’s North Carolina Practice. Crabtree is based in the firm’s Charlotte studio.

Crabtree’s prior experience includes roles as an award-winning design director with global architecture firms. His recent design projects include the new headquarters for Corning Optical Communications, Charlotte’s Tyron Place mixed-use development, and the Credit Suisse campus expansion in Research Triangle Park.

“David is known for anchoring an imaginative design process and working with clients to discover the full range of design possibilities matched to their vision,” said Zena Howard FAIA, Managing Director of the North Carolina practice of Perkins+Will. “Throughout his career, he has mentored others and fostered a shared design culture through research, creativity, and team development. We are pleased to welcome Davidas a design leader in Charlotte.”

Crabtree currently serves on the Program Committee for the Charlotte Chapter of the Urban Land Institute and is a volunteer for several civic, industry, and charitable organizations in the Charlotte region.A registered architect, heearned his Bachelor of Design and Master of Architecture degrees at the University of Florida. He is accredited by the National Council of Architectural Registration Board (NCARB) and is a licensed contractor.
