The chief executive officer of Investors Title Company, an insurance holding company, saw a 5.1 percent increase in total compensation in 2017, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission
J. Allen Fine received $1.22 million in total compensation in 2017 compared to $1.16 million in 2016.
He saw his annual salary rise to $405,250 in 2017 from $367,166 in 2016. All other compensation, which includes health insurance, 401(k) contributions, and use of the company vehicle, rose 36.1 percent to $60,095 in 2017 from $44,135 in 2016.
Investors Title writes and supports residential and commercial title insurance and provides services such as coordinating, underwriting and managing commercial transactions.
The company was founded in 1972 and has offices in Chapel Hill and Columbia, South Carolina, among other issuing offices throughout the U.S.
Company earnings increased 31.8 percent to $25.7 million in 2017, up from $19.5 million in 2016.
Fine has worked for Investors Title since 1987. He received a B.S. in business administration from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1984.
