New Visitor Info Center features Charlotte-centric retail, anchor tenants Nectar and SUGAR Handmade Gourmet Donuts, and resources for visitors and locals

The Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority’s new Visitor Info Center in Uptown—and it’s two anchor tenants: Nectar, featuring flowers and plants, and SUGAR Handmade Gourmet Donuts serving Enderly Coffee—is now open on South Tryon Street. This weekend marks its official grand opening, just in time to welcome visitors for the NCAA Tournament and St. Patrick’s Day festivities in Center City. The new site joins existing locations at the Charlotte Convention Center and Charlotte Douglas International Airport as well as a satellite location at Levine Museum of the New South.

The new Visitor Info Center in Uptown is staffed with local experts sharing information and resources about what to do, see, explore and eat in the Charlotte region and showcasing carefully curated retail offerings crafted by local and regional makers. The “glass box” design of the site exudes a small marketplace feel with an inviting and airy space that opens to foot-traffic in Uptown.

The Charlotte region welcomes 27.8 million visitors each year, and approximately 50 percent of visitors come to Charlotte to visit friends and relatives. This prominent location in Uptown serves as a starting point for anyone—leisure and business travelers as well as locals—looking for unique Charlotte gifts and more information about how to explore the city.

“We’re excited to welcome visitors and locals to the new Visitor Info Center in Uptown, a high-visibility location where foot traffic has increased significantly over the last several years,” says CRVA CEO Tom Murray. “This new location helps us meet visitors where they are with resources and retail offerings that help enhance their experience in Charlotte."

Products created by more than 40 local and regional vendors, like Bluegill Pottery, Carolina Bags, Glory Days Apparel, Mallory Candle Co., The Secret Chocolatier and more, are available for purchase. Additionally, Visitor Info Center staff will be on-site to provide a variety of destination brochures and collateral, like the Charlotte City Guide, Happenings magazine, maps and more to help visitors discover the Queen City.
