Middle Market Power Index Examines Charlotte Mid-Sized Businesses

The latest edition of the Middle Market Power Index looks at the strength of middle market firms in cities across the U.S., and examines the roles these firms play in their local economies.

This report highlights the reciprocal relationship between middle market firms and the cities in which they operate – cities provide infrastructure and talent, while companies offer economic benefits. In many places, middle market firms are key to a resilient economy – either by providing an economic base to rebuild after a natural disaster, or providing the necessary opportunities to help the local economy grow. Notably, the data showcases the strength of Heartland cities, and interesting differences in productivity for middle market businesses across the country.

Charlotte ranks 24th in number of middle market firms among the top 25 U.S. metropolitan areas. Additionally, Charlotte is 25th for employment and 24th for revenue.
