Bradley Partner José Vega Earns Certified Information Privacy Professional Credential

Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP is pleased to announce that José D. Vega, a partner in the firm’s Charlotte office, has earned the Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) credential in the United States through the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).

Lumsden. “José is one of numerous Bradley attorneys who achieved this certification and have excelled in fostering our firm’s leadership in important privacy and data protection matters.”

A member of Bradley’s Banking and Financial Services and Cybersecurity and Privacy practice groups, Mr. Vega has more than a decade of experience representing commercial businesses and financial institutions in litigation matters throughout the country. He has extensive experience defending clients in commercial and business litigation, including cases involving insurance defense, employment disputes, and breach of contract claims.

Mr. Vega also advises clients about privacy and security compliance issues, working with them to ensure the integrity of their systems and to provide investigative and remediation services in the wake of a data breach. In addition, he represents clients during investigations conducted by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and state regulatory bodies and counsels clients on compliance with state and federal laws.

Mr. Vega earned his J.D. from Wake Forest University School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts (summa cum laude) from Birmingham-Southern College.

Accredited by the American National Standards Institute, the CIPP is recognized as a leading global privacy and data protection credentialing program. The CIPP/US designates professionals who demonstrate a strong foundation in U.S. private-sector privacy laws and regulations and understanding of the legal requirements for the responsible transfer of sensitive personal data to/from the United States, the European Union, and other jurisdictions.
