
Mike Surasky
Mike Surasky will lead traffic engineering projects throughout North Carolina as a new senior supervising traffic engineer in the Raleigh office of WSP USA, formerly WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff, a leading engineering and professional services organization.
In his new position, Mr. Surasky will work on projects involving traffic impact studies, planning and corridor studies, transit studies, traffic operations, traffic signals, signing and marking, roadway design, municipal services, and maintenance of traffic.
Mr. Surasky has over 20 years of experience in traffic engineering, transportation planning, traffic control, roadway design, roundabout design, signing and marking, and signal design. He has successfully administered projects for state, municipal, and private clients, including theCity of Raleigh and other municipalities in North Carolina.
A licensed professional engineer in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, District of Columbia, Delaware, Pennsylvania, and Ohio, Mr. Surasky is also certified as a Professional Traffic Operations Engineer. He received M.C.E. and B.S. degrees from North Carolina State University. He is the current president of the North Carolina Section of the Institute of Transportation Engineers. He has also served as chair of the City of Raleigh Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Resources advisory board.
