Sealed Air Corp.’s chief executive officer saw an 82 percent increase in total compensation in the company’s 2016 fiscal year due to an increase in stock awards and base salary, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing.
Jerome A. Peribere’s 2016 total compensation was $14.8 million, up from $8.1 million in 2015.
Peribere was awarded $13.5 million in stock awards in 2016, an increase of 95 percent from $6.9 million in 2015. His base salary also increased to $1.25 million in 2016 from $1.18 million in 2015.
Carol P. Lowe, senior vice president and chief financial officer, received $2.15 million in total compensation in the company’s 2016 fiscal year. Her compensation was down 8.3 percent, from $2.33 million in 2015, due to a $115,00o decrease in stock awards.
The Charlotte-based packaging company reported 2016 profit of $486.4 million, or $2.46 per share. Revenue was $6.78 billion.
Founded in 1960, Sealed Air is a packaging company known for its brands Cyrovac food packaging, Bubble Wrap cushioning and Diversey cleaning and hygiene.
Sealed Air will hold its annual meeting of stockholders on May 18, at 10 a.m., at Sealed Air’s corporate headquarters, 2415 Cascade Pointe Blvd., in Charlotte.
The company’s shares were down 3 cents to $43.03 in Friday afternoon trading.
