Total Quality Logistics to Bring 70 Jobs to High Point

12/11/16

Total Quality Logistics LLC will open a new facility in High Point, announced North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory and the Economic Development of North Carolina.

TQL intends to add 70 jobs to High Point over the next five years with the investment of $308,000 at its new location at 4135 Mendenhall Oaks Parkway. It plans to open the facility in March 2017.

TQL is the second-largest freight brokerage firm in North America. The company facilitates customers in a variety of different industries to carrier and owner-operators of trucks.

The company’s sales exceeded $2.2 billion in 2015.

Its 57 offices across 24 states employees over 4,200 employees. TQL has existing North Carolina locations in Durham and Charlotte and employs more than 170 workers.

Since Gov. McCrory entered office in January 2013, North Carolina’s economy has generated more than 300,000 jobs.

The addition of a TQL team in High Point will produce more than $2.5 million in annual payroll impact for the local economy. The new location will employ logistics account executives and sales-support employees.

TQL’s North Carolina expansion was fueled in part by a performance-based grant of up to $70,000 from the One North Carolina Fund.

The fund seeks to provide financial assistance through local government to attract business projects that will stimulate economic activity.

“Opening a new location in High Point helps us to build on the success we’ve had in North Carolina for several years,” said TQL president Kerry Byrne. “Charlotte was our company’s third-ever satellite office to open in the country, and we are pleased to continue to grow our footprint in the state.”
