The Republik, Durham, has been named as the first-ever digital AOR for Organic Transit, Durham, with ongoing marketing and website development responsibilities in support of both individual and, separately, fleet sales. Individual consumers are primarily upper income, $150K+, ages 35 - 70, and either urban or retirement community residents. Fleet buyers are sustainability officers, recreational directors, security and maintenance departments at either college or large-site corporate campuses. First new work will appear Q4 2016.
Selection was managed by Organic Transit director of marketing Maureen Costello, based on prior project work. There was no review.
Organic Transit, crowd-funded, privately held, manufactures the ELF, an enclosed, three-wheeled, pedal-powered, solar-assisted vehicle, capable of speeds up to 20 m.p.h. on battery alone, or 30 m.p.h. with pedaling. An ELF--the name stands for Electric, Light and Fun--weighs about 160 pounds, can carry up to 550 pounds and gets the equivalent of 1800 miles-per-gallon. The ELF has the potential to significantly decrease CO2 output while providing a healthier and safer commute. Over 750 ELFs are now in use, covering over 3 million miles. All are manufactured in the U.S.
