11/15/16

Two executives at Charlotte-based Nucor Corp. have sold $2.6 million in company stock, according to two separate Form 4s filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Tuesday.

Executive Vice President James R. Darsey sold 16,800 shares at $57.73 each and another 13,402 shares at $58.38 each, according to the filing. Darsey received $1.75 million from the sale.

He now owns 175,111 shares of Nucor worth nearly $10.5 million.

Similarly, Executive Vice President Robert J. Stratman sold approximately 15,744 shares at $59 per share, receiving $931,997. Stratman now owns 210,274 shares of Nucor worth $12.6 million.

Nucor is currently the largest steel producer in the U.S.

The company reported third-quarter earnings that fell below analysts’ expectations in October, despite upward trends in steel prices. Nucor warned investors of a possible fourth quarter decline, as well, citing lower margins in the steel mills segment as the main cause for concern.

Darsey serves as an executive vice president of merchant and rebar products at Nucor. Stratman is the chief digital officer and an executive vice president of raw materials.

Shares of the steel manufacturer were trading at $59.94, up 34 cents, or 0.57 percent, during midday trading on Nov. 15. Its stock price has risen since the Nov. 8 election of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, who has promised to spend billions on infrastructure.
