BB&T director Nido Qubein, who is president of High Point University, sold $737,398 in common stock last Thursday, Oct. 27.
He sold 20,000 shares worth $39.37 each, according to a statement of changes in beneficial ownership filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Monday. The director gave another 10,437 shares of common stock to the company as a gift.
Following the sale and the gift, Qubein owned 60,413 shares worth $2.37 million.
BB&T released its quarterly earnings performance last week, which exceeded analysts estimates.
This is his third transaction this year, about average for him since he began exercising stock transactions with BB&T and other companies in 2003.
Qubein is also on the board of directors of La-Z-Boy Inc., a Michigan-based furniture company. He is a consultant and motivational speaker who spent his young adulthood in North Carolina.
BB&T’s shares closed up 5 cents, or 0.13 percent, at $39.20 on Monday.
