Adds to its portfolio of event venues

Rocky Top Hospitality has purchased The Boondocks special event facility located in a historic building at 201 East Main Street in Youngsville. The company, which also operates Rocky Top Catering and the 1705 Prime special event venue in Raleigh, will rebrand the facility as Cross + Main.

This acquisition complements Rocky Top’s other dining, catering and special event offerings and will extend the company’s footprint into Franklin County, yet still just minutes away from Wake County.

The Boondocks building was originally built to be used as a livery in the early 1900s.In the 1950s, the Town of Youngsville used the building for its fire station. Years later, in the 1980s, the building was bought and named The Boondocks where it served as an auction house. Some investors bought the property in 2013 and worked to restore it to its former glory.

Over the past few years, the building has hosted wedding ceremonies and receptions, rehearsal dinners, birthday parties, reunions, baby showers, corporate events, and more.

Rocky Top Catering and Southland BBQ Catering – a new offering from Rocky Top – will now be the exclusive caterers of Cross + Main. Rocky Top’s staff have decades of experience working with couples, families, event planners, vendors, entertainers and more to help plan and execute perfect special events.

“We just love The Boondocks with its elegant giant arches, high ceilings, exposed brick, and open space,” said Dean Ogan, owner of Rocky Top Hospitality. “When the opportunity arose to purchase the building and provide another option for our customers seeking grand venues for their special events, we just couldn’t pass it up.”
